Mid-September report

We can definitely tell the days are getting shorter (just over 12 hours at this point) since our maximum solar generation is starting to peak out around 16 or 17 kwh with the average lingering around 11 kwh. Some of this is due to quite a few days of rain which we desperately needed but doesn’t do much for solar generation. We have also experienced a spike in our usage due to doing canning and dehydrating which involves the stove and lots of electricity. We are looking into moving the canning to a propane stove and the dehydrator to a battery-powered inverter, but that won’t be happening in the short term, so it will be a race this month to see if the production can stay ahead of the demand. Overall though, we are very happy with production.
